For Your Ears Only

By Da Rock Critics
FOR YOUR EARS ONLY

Calling all Southern Rock Lovers!!!!  If you are a Skynyrd, Hatchet or Tucker fan we have found the band for you.  On the particular night we experienced BOUNTY HUNTER, they were comprised of five dudes and a gal.  Front man Chris Hall did a strong and powerful job on vocals worthy of raising the roof.  The lovely and talented Carol Pilger delivered support vocals nailing the very essence of harmony.  Their rendition of “Sweet Melissa” revealed just how much essential talent these singers produced.  Mike Weatherford, lead guitarist and band founder kept us rockin all night with his southern style riffs.  Jason “Jay” Saunders lent a hand and we became recipients of seeing two experienced lead guitarists switch effortlessly from song to song.  Although hidden in the back while keeping the beat, and not in a shy way, was drummer Roger Jarva who wowed us with more than one outstanding drum solo.  Rounding out the awesome sound of this band is bass guitarist Rich Bell who like his fellow band members is a very skilled and accomplished musician.  While watching Rich play, we got the feeling that we have seen his face somewhere before.  Bounty Hunter treated us by playing all our “Southern Rock” favorites.  At the end of the evening this band reciprocated with their appreciation back to us by circulating and thanking all of us for supporting their performance.  Do these guys know how to rock?  Hell yea! See them soon. ROCK ON!!!

PAST MIDNIGHT can best be described as a “good time” rock and roll band with a high energy mix of classic rock, new rock, folk rock, funk and R&B.  This five piece group did a great job on hits spanning several decades.  With four band members being able to sing, Past Midnight covered a large range of music from the Beatles, Dire Straits, Blondie to Head East.  They even performed a little reggae with lead guitarist Tony Pinterics donning a Rasta style hat complete with shoulder length dreadlocks.  Lead singer Debbie Michalak pulled off several chic band songs and sounded especially good when harmonizing with bass player Jerry Burns and rhythm guitarist Steve Paura, both of whom are accomplished musicians.  Drummer John Sullivan played all night on a set of electronic drums which produced a distinct and unique sound.  Past Midnight entertained us by playing lots of our favorite tunes.  So remember, if you are having a good time it must be PAST MIDNIGHT and remember to ROCK ON!!!
